(Legacy of a Dahlia Hobbyist – Eldon Wilson)

Held at the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10120 Lomas Blvd. NE

Eldon Wilson lived in Washington State and was a friend of Les Connell, who grew and developed many new dahlia varieties. After Eldon died in 1991, Les dedicated a dahlia to him, and it has been grown by his son, John, ever since. John moved to Placitas, NM, and in early 202,5 offered 50 tubers to the NMDS. The Flower of the Year 2025 is the Eldon Wilson, a yellow Stellar with orange reverse. A special ribbon is awarded to the best Eldon Wilson in the show.
